Touchpad shall extend a minimum of one half of the door width. All latchbolts to be deadlatching type, with a self-lubrication coating to reduce wear. Touchpad shall match exit device finish.. Exit devices shall be UL listed panic exit hardware. All exit devices for fire rated openings shall be UL labeled fire exit hardware. Lever trim for exit devices shall be vandal-resistant type. CLOSERS AND DOOR CONTROL DEVICES Access-Free Manual Closers: Where manual closers are indicated for doors required to be accessible to the physically handicapped, provide adjustable units complying with ADA and ANSI A-117.1 provisions for door opening force. At interior doors, adjust closers for door opening force not to exceed 5 foot-pounds of force. If a door has a closer, then the sweep period of the closer shall be adjusted so that from an open position of 90 degrees, the time required to move the door to a position of 12 degrees from the latch is five (5) seconds minimum. At exterior doors, adjust closers for door opening force not to exceed 8.5 foot-pounds of force. Where parallel arms are indicated for closers, provide closer unit one (1) size larger than recommended for use with standard arms. All closers shall utilize a stable fluid withstanding temperature range of 120 degrees F to 30 degrees F without seasonal adjustment of closer speed to properly close the door. Closers for fire-rated doors shall be provided with temperature stabilizing fluid that complies with standards UBC 7-2 (1997) and UL 10C.
