New year, new look
MD Anderson debuts new website
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has launched a bold new look on the digital front. A refreshed website, , debuted in early January, after many months of planning.
Highlights of the updated website include:
- Visual design that better reflects the MD Anderson brand
- Updated and streamlined content that makes the site more readable
- Sections addressing the specific needs of caregivers and those facing life after cancer
- Âé¶¹Ó³»able Knowledge Center where users can access MD Anderson publication articles, blog posts, news releases, videos or audio podcasts
- Sophisticated analytics and marketing tools that give MD Anderson the ability to test different content strategies and personalize site content for users.
¡°The new site includes compelling and visual content that¡¯s more story-driven,¡± says Megan Maisel, director, Integrated Media Communications. ¡°Our goal is to forge emotional connections with patients, caregivers and our many friends and supporters.¡±
The initial refresh focused on meeting the online needs of patients, caregivers, donors, potential volunteers and referring physicians. The new design and content reorganization aims to make it easier for those in most need to find information on the site quickly.
Over the next year, phase two of the website refresh will be rolled out. Phase two includes updating pages that address the needs of MD Anderson¡¯s research and academic audiences.
¡°This is the first step in a major effort to improve our customers¡¯ overall digital experience,¡± says Mike Marshall, manager, Digital Experience. ¡°In addition to the new look and a new back-end technical system, there¡¯s an improved navigation that¡¯s intuitive for users, and the site is responsive to mobile devices.¡±
