Research Interests: brain imaging techniques (fMRI, ERPs) to identify the neuropsychological mechanisms that increase individuals' vulnerability to behavioral dysregulation (smoking and overeating)
Health Disparities Research Investigators
Research Interests: health behavior, exercise, cancer survivors, quality of life
Research Interests: reducing cancer disparities (incidence, mortality, and quality of life) by targeting multiple levels of influence (e.g., individual, family, healthcare provider)
Research Interests: increasing physical activity among racial/ethnic minorities as a mechanism to reduce cancer risk
Research Interests: understanding how social, cultural, and environmental influences help to shape patterns of cancer preventive behaviors in minority and underserved populations, with the ultimate objective of translating research findings into health promotion efforts that stimulate meaningful change in opportunities for and adoption of healthy lifestyles
Integrative Medicine Program Investigators
Research Interests: integrative medicine, biobehavioral effects of psychosocial interventions, incorporation of complementary programs with conventional treatment (e.g., meditation, stress management, emotional writing, yoga, and tai chi/qigong)
Research Interests: utilizing neuroscientific methods to explore the efficacy and mechanisms of non-conventional medicine, as well as the design and implementation of brain computer interface protocols to help patients modify their experience of side effects of cancer treatment
