Advisory Council
The Multidisciplinary Breast Reconstruction Research Program also has an Advisory Council, which includes a Community Advisory Committee and a Professional Advisory Committee. These two groups provide their knowledge, experience and insights into the review of research projects to:
- Ensure cultural appropriateness of research questions and measures/assessments used
- Confirm relevance of research protocols to the best interests of the breast cancer community
- Problem-solve issues and potential barriers pertaining to study design and implementation
- Optimize participant recruitment strategies and materials
- Optimize participant retention strategies
- Ensure results and their implications are disseminated in an understandable way
